  • Milan Sagat

    Executive Director

    Milan Šagát works with VIA IURIS since 2009 and is the Executive Director of the organization since 2014. He is also the member of the Board of the White Crow Award. He gained his professional experience as the project coordinator of Pontis Foundation in democratization projects in Serbia and Turkey and as the consultant for fundraising and strategic drevocement of an NGO Projekt Forum. He studies political science at Comenius University in Bratislava and at Belgrade University. He is the member of Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship. Loves his wife, running and books.

  • Zuzana Caputova

    Attorney

    Zuzana Caputova is an attorney. She has been awarded the Goldman Environmental Prize and Women of Courage Award. She was one of the leaders of citizen initiative fighting the Pezinok landfill. In her legal practice, she focuses on administrative law and area of judiciary, public prosecution and law enforcement. She is a member of Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide. Lives in Pezinok, has two daughters and loves traveling.

    Attorney

    Kristína Babiaková has a law degree from University of Trnava. In VIA IURIS, she focuses on public participation, judiciary and police. During her university education, she worked with an NGO Citizen and Democracy on the project of legal assistance and the programme Everyday Law. She worked with University of Trnava as a lecturer of the course “Legal Clinic for Communities” and a student supervisor. She has authored and co-authored several publications in the area of human rights and judiciary.

  • Imrich Vozár

    Lawyer

    Imrich Vozár works with VIA IURIS since 2008 and specializes in public participation in decision-making and access to information, especially in the cases related to environmental issues and creation of legislation. He coordinates VIA IURIS‘ membership in the international network Justice & Environment. Studied law on Masaryk’s University in Brno. During his studies, he cooperated with Czech NGO Ecological Legal Service. Between 2005 and 2008 worked with the Slovak Ministry of Environment. He likes to spend his free time travelling. He is married with two kids.

  • Peter Wilfling

    Lawyer

    Peter Wilfling graduated from Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava. His expert work is focused on public access to information, public rights to participate on decision-making in issues of environmental protection, freedom of expression and argumentation in court decisions. He took part in preparing comments of several legislation drafts related to access of public to information and participation of public on decision-making.

  • Ivana Figuli

    Lawyer

    Ivana Figuli studied law at University of Toulouse and Paul Cézanne University. Before working with VIA IURIS, she worked with UNHCR in Georgia, as a volunteer for Amnesty International in Chile and with an NGO Pobladores, working with Mexican people and assisting them to promote their housing right and protect their environment. She specializes in human rights and participates the projects of international association Justice & Environment. She is an steadfast optimist and no one has ever seen her without the smile on her face.

    White Crow Award Project Manager

    Veronika Cukasova works with VIA IURIS since 2012 and is a coordinator of the White Crow Award. What motivates her in her work is an immense respect for the actions and the courage of “white crows”, who defend the truth and justice for all of us. She studied sociology and in 2003 – 2012, she worked with SEESAME Communication Experts, being responsible for the projects in the area on NGO sector, healthcare and transportation.

    Veronika Cukasova works with VIA IURIS since 2012 and is a coordinator of the White Crow Award.     Campaigns and Communication

    Juraj Rizman is our campaigns and communication coordinator. He worked as spokesman in several non-governmental organizations and coordinated many successful environmental campaigns, for example campaign against uranium mining. In 2008 Juraj was awarded the Spokesman of the Year in category: public and non-profit sector. For years he had been member of management of Greenpeace in Slovakia as well as in CEE region.

Studied at University of Economics in Bratislava, and participated in the exchange scholarships with University of Economies in Katowice, Poland and Masaryk’s University in Brno, Czech Republic. She attended the internship in Slovak Governance Institute and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovak Republic. She likes to explore new countries and cultures. The dance floor and mountains are the best places to relax for her.

    Accounting & Finances

    Zdenka Tesarova studied finances at Matej Bel University and works with VIA IURIS since 2003. Apart from the accounting, she is also our consultant in economic and organizational matters. She worked in several private companies in the past and attended distance training on accounting, financial management and marketing of NGOs. She spends her free time doing sports.

Bylaws

VIA IURIS is registered as a civic association and our goals, governing and institutional structure, and other areas are defined in the association’s bylaws (currently only in Slovak).
