Open letter to the Slovak Prime Minister
On January 26, VIA IURIS sent an open letter to the Slovak Prime Minister. We ask him to take responsibility for the situation in the Slovak judiciary. We also point out why we consider the disciplinary proceeding against Judge Miroslav Gavalec an insult to democracy, justice and rule of law.
VIA IURIS moves its main seat
Since January 1, 2010 VIA IURIS – Center for Public Advocacy changes its main seat’s address. The new seat can be found at the address: Radnicne nam. 9, 902 01 Pezinok, Slovakia.
Public has the Right to Criticize the Judiciary
The content of a two-day work conference known as the “Cogency and Transparency in the Decisions of the Courts,” was a debate about the relationship between the public and the courts. The conference was organized by VIA IURIS – Center for Public Advocacy and was held on November 26th and 27th, 2009. The representatives of VIA IURIS informed journalists about the conference’s outcomes at a press conference today.
New Construction Law: Exclusion of Public Again ?!
VIA IURIS - Center for Public Advocacy, pointed out that if the new Construction Law, that has currently been debated by the Parliamentary Committees were adopted in its proposed form than this law would repeatedly allow construction without notifying the citizens that live near the construction zone.
