International Cooperation
Our international cooperation is based on exchange of experience, legal arguments, progressive legislative models and various methods of defense of citizen’s rights and public interest.
VIA IURIS is a member of two international networks associating active organizations and individuals advocating positive societal changes by use of legal instruments “Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide” and “Justice&Environment”.
Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW - www.elaw.org), was established in 1989 and associates more than 300 lawyers and scientists from 60 countries. Members of ELAW are building a sustainable future by helping citizens participate in decisions about the environment. By giving grassroots advocates access to critical legal and scientific resources, ELAW strengthens these advocates to challenge environmental abuses and pursue environmental justice. Members of this network exchange legal and scientific information via electronic conference. VIA IURIS became member of the ELAW in 1996.
Justice & Environment (J&E - www.justiceandenvironment.org), is a network of 6 environmental law organizations from the member countries of European Union. VIA IURIS was one of the founding organizations in the year 2002. Aim of the J&E is effective protection of rights of citizens, protection of environment and nature. Members advance this aim by participation at policymaking, implementation and application of EU law and mutual exchange of information via electronic conference and at regular working meetings. J&E members engage in joint projects, in the year 2004 we have collaborated on “Enforcement of nature protection through the use of EU law”.
