Strategic Litigation
VIA IURIS provides legal aid to citizens and civic organizations in defending the public interest and in combating non-democratic and non-transparent decision-making. We provide consultations, prepare analyses and legal submissions and represent our clients before state authorities, general courts, the Constitutional Court, the European Court of Human Rights and other international institutions.
Our goal is to bring the rights of people from a position of “declarations” in the Constitution, laws, international covenants and European directives to a day-to-day decision-making of public authorities. Our work attempts to secure that the rights of citizens are not restrained by formalistic decision-making or restrictive interpretation of law disregarding the spirit of law. We attach great value to precedent-setting cases with impact on other similar decisions.
